Make Extra-Fluffy Mashed Potatoes By Adding Baking Powder

Making mashed potatoes soon? Here's a quick trick for making that side dish even fluffier: Just add a pinch of baking powder while mashing.

The folks at household hacking site Household Magic Daily Tips say this food hack works because the the powder mixes with the heat and forms tiny air pockets.

    A dash of milk, a "healthy" knob of butter and season well - it's hard to beat.

    For a little variety, fried shallots always make mash a little more interesting or add a little cheese and / or cooked peas for some extra flavour and colour.

    Oh and leave the skins on.

    I find a little wholegrain mustard works a treat also. Plus being Irish one famous Irish potato dish is colcannon. Attached a wiki link, and its even better with a little bit fried chopped bacon through it.

    Teaspoon of garlic and another few of butter works a treat imho
