LightExplorer Adds Filetrees To Notepad++

If you frequently use Notepad++, consider adding the LightExplorer plug-in which enables a file and folder explorer within the notepad replacement. This can save a few minutes each day by not having to leave the application to look for files or folders.

Tech weblog Addictive Tips details how to automatically install LightExplorer from within Notepad++: Click on Plugins, Plugin Manager and Show Plugin Manager. Under the Available tab select LightExplorer and click Install. After installing, click again on Plugins and enable LightExplorer; this will open the filetree directory on the left side of the screen.

We at Lifehacker love Notepad++ — earlier this year we did a post on worthwhile Notepad++ plug-ins and have also written a guide to getting more out of Notepad++. LightExplorer will also help you get more things done with Notepad++.

LightExplorer is a free, open source plug-in for Notepad++ available at Source Forge.
