Clamp Awkward Or Slippery Objects With A Bicycle Tube

One of the most difficult facets of doing any repair work yourself is figuring out how to keep round or slippery objects in place after gluing them. Home Repair show host Ron Hazelton suggests using a bicycle tube as a simple, cheap clamp for holding awkward-shaped objects in place.

He demonstrates this on two pieces of wood, an antique stroller and a table leg, but it should be usable on nearly anything you need to glue together and keep in place. The flexibility of using a bicycle tube is like having a giant rubber band, so it will come in handy for a variety of tasks. Check out the video for a full guide on how to do it yourself.
