Explosions In The Sky

If you’re feeling a little slow to start the week, instrumental guitar band Explosions in the Sky serves up a little epic ambient atmosphere to get your juices flowing.

The band describes their work as cathartic mini-symphonies, and that’s about right. They’re basically sweeping, epic instrumentals comprised of of electric guitars and drums that are great to tune out to when you need to get head-down in your work. If Explosions in the Sky sound familiar, then you’ve probably watched Friday Night Lights at some point in your life — they provide the score to the lives of the townspeople of Dylan, Texas. If this is your first foray into EitS, I’d recommend getting started with their 2007 album All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone, linked below.
