Xperia Mini Pro May Hit Australia Soon

Sony Ericsson’s local Xperia lineup will get expanded next week with the release of the Xperia Ray, joining the existing Play, Neo and Arc models. Next cab off the rank for Xperia down under? Potentially the Mini Pro.

While no deals have been finalised, in the demo session for the Ray yesterday Sony Ericsson officials said that active discussions were taking place for the Xperia Mini Pro. It doesn’t like look its larger sibling, the Xperia Pro, will be hitting local carriers soon, however. (Note this is a different model to the long-established X10 Mini Pro.)

Vodafone’s exclusive deal on the Xperia Ray runs through until Christmas, at which point it may be released by other carriers. (Vodafone also gets access to the Xperia Neo, previously a Telstra exclusive, next week.)
