The Fastest Way To Board A Plane

A physicist devised a much more efficient way to board a plane. The secret: boarding one side at a time, with as many people can unload luggage simultaneously without blocking the aisle, window seats first.

Unfortunately, you’re probably not in charge of an airline and thus can’t do anything with this information, but you can use it in the next event you are in charge of.

When you’re planning a wedding or a concert and all your guests need to be seated at the same time, think about lining people up not not by row, one after another, but by staggered rows so that one slow person doesn’t hold up everyone behind them. Try and get as many parallel actions going at once — a reason why having many cores in your CPU helps make your overall processing faster — and there’s less blockage you have to deal with.

But if you are in charge of airline boarding, please watch this video!
