   I prefer Wget, a command line tool. It’s available out of the box on UNIX-like operating systems (including OS X, IIRC), and can be downloaded for Windows as part of the GNUWin32 project[1].

   Wget isn’t as easy to learn and use as simpler solutions like SiteSucker and HTTrack. It can be tricky to get the parameters right sometimes, especially for websites that host their content across multiple domains, but it does the job well and is easy to script.

   I’ve written a small tutorial for downloading websites with Wget on my website[2], and there’s an official manual[3] that goes into quite a bit of detail.

   Don’t forget to add a delay between downloads, regardless of which tool you use. No need to tax the server. 🙂

   You guys, it said “If you want a quick and easy tool to download websites for offline viewing”.
   No PC tool that exists today does this simply. I tried HTTrack and SiteSucker for PC and both are impossible to understand. When I buy socks online, I don’t want to have to fill five pages of forms, same thing when I import a website, I want the three main options – how deep to import, what type of files, and picking a save location. With HTTrack, I successfully downloaded one file (wow great job I needed a program for that!) and when I clicked on “open” it couldn’t even find where it had saved it.
   As for WGet it’s a “tar.gz” program, I have no idea how to run this. I want a program that does a task for me, I don’t want to have to code it myself or do programming to be able to run it, this would postpone the task itself.
