Keep Your iPad In The Kitchen With A DIY Retractable Dock

Tablets makes great recipe books, but if you’d like to keep it off the counter so you have room to work, this DIY sliding dock puts it under the cupboard for easy access.

DIYer Evan came up with this aluminium dock to save space in his cramped kitchen, while keeping his recipes close by. Since he rents the house and couldn’t make permanent alterations, he put the sliding dock under a cabinet. It isn’t the greatest looking thing, but if you’re allowed to do more permanent mods, you could easily build it into the cabinet instead. DIY weblog Hack a Day suggests even putting some wood moulding over the sliders, blending it into the rest of the kitchen. Hit the link to see how he put it together. If you prefer something a bit simpler, you could always just mount it right onto the cupboard door, too.
