Android: If you’re an Android user that likes to delve deeper into system settings Elixir 2 might be up your alley. The app tests and displays metrics for your accelerometer, gravity sensor and magnetic field sensor (among many other system properties), and can even create skinnable widgets so you find relevant data on your home screen.
In addition to the plethora of settings Elixir 2 monitors, it also allows you to check Logcat and Dmesg logs so you can check the process log for debugging and print the message buffer of your kernel. The generate report feature creates reports for your Android device and installed apps which can send via Bluetooth, email or SMS.
There are three optional add-ons for Elixir 2:
- Custom skinnable widgets that can monitor system settings, turn services on and off, give a count of running applications, and many other functions.
- Personal Add-On enables Elixir to access personal data and create widgets using personal data; you can create a widget displaying photos of your contacts and have the widget call, text, or email your contact based on individual settings.
- Admin Add-On enables features that require administrator access. Once activated, this add-on will automatically administrator permissions in Elixir until administrator permission is manually disabled.
The three additions are separate as widgets cannot be moved to your SD card and this design allows you to move the larger main app (2.6MB) to SD while maintaining the smaller add-ons in internal storage.
For a free app, Elixir 2 offers a lot of functionality, and it’s highly rated on the Android market. If you need more system data for your Android or its apps Elixir 2 is a great tool.
