Eric Shawn writes in with a handy tip for houses that have started smelling a little funky:
Put two caps full of vanilla extract in a coffee cup, then place it in the oven at 300 degrees for one hour. Within twenty minutes the whole house smells like Heaven. It’s actually a common realtor trick.
“Heaven” might not be the right word if you aren’t a fan of vanilla, but it’ll surely get the job done, and an open window can probably keep the vanilla smell from getting nauseating.
