Telstra and Optus are both selling the 3G version on contract, but if you want a no contract experience, the Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi Android tablet goes on sale in Australia today for $689.

That makes it cheaper than the 3G version, which Telstra has been selling outright for $840.The press announcement notes that it will be sold through JB Hi-Fi and “other retailers”; if you spot it on sale in a particular chain, let us know in the comments.
