Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi On Sale In Australia Today

Telstra and Optus are both selling the 3G version on contract, but if you want a no contract experience, the Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi Android tablet goes on sale in Australia today for $689.

That makes it cheaper than the 3G version, which Telstra has been selling outright for $840.The press announcement notes that it will be sold through JB Hi-Fi and “other retailers”; if you spot it on sale in a particular chain, let us know in the comments.

  • Meh, If I decided right now,.. and I’m still thinking! which one to buy, it would be the “Asus Eee Pad Transformer” 16Gb Pad only, @ around $600. Unfortunately that’s the only way you can get them at the moment, Hardly Normal and JB have pretty much teamed up on this one, and that’s the only way you can buy it unless you go 32Gb @ around $800 with the keyboard, which is a bloody sham… but I figure you can buy the keyboard ext later! The Transformer is a much better pad at the moment…

  • Wouldnt bother with the Xoom. Asus Transformer or new Samsung Galaxy Tabs when they arrive sometime soon would be my picks if I were to buy right now. But by the end of the year, there will be more choice of tablets and lower prices all round.

    • Yeah, I considered it, but I have trouble trusting transactions via the US! Plus their postal system leaves a great deal to be desired!! Big expense to trust with their system…
