Float Delivers Links Shared By Your Friends To The iPhone

iPhone/Web: Float is a new digital reading app from social publishing site Scribd. The app pulls in content from over 150 websites as well as shared articles and posts from your Twitter, Facebook and Scribd networks.

The free app is available for iPhone now, with iPad and Android versions coming soon, but you can also use Float’s elegant web app to get popular content and social networking posts in one place. (In my testing, Facebook feeds weren’t coming in, however. It may be just a delay with the service.)

There’s Instapaper-like support for offline reading and easy sharing to Facebook, Twitter, Scribd or email. The iPhone app features text magnification, custom reading styles including Sunlight Reading and NightTime, and syncing with Float.com.

Although it doesn’t sync with Google Reader, Float is still an interesting social reading app that should appeal especially to Scribd users.
