Wallpaper Changer Automatically Rotates Android Backgrounds

Android: It’s a safe bet that you see your Android phone’s wallpaper more often than you see your desktop’s wallpaper. With Wallpaper Changer, you can set it to rotate periodically among images that you select.Wallpaper Changer isn’t the only app in the Android Market that does this, but it is one of the few that’s specifically optimised for performance and battery life. It runs at the interval you set, switches your wallpaper to another image in your gallery, and relinquishes the memory used to the system. The app also has a home screen widget you can use to switch to the next wallpaper in the rotation with a single tap.

It would be nice if you could add a folder of images to Wallpaper Changer instead of adding them from the Gallery app, but considering how lightweight it is, it’s difficult to complain. Wallpaper Changer is free in the Android Market.

  • FYI, you may want to try Multipicture Live Wallpaper which allows you to add a folder of images which will rotate through (battery life does not seem to be too much of an issue but this is my perception).

Also, you can select a different wallpaper for each screen which I think is the best feature. So I have 5 screens with a different picture for each screen (e.g. a music wallpaper for my music and multimedia apps, a clock wallpaper for my calendar, a travel pic for my map apps, etc.). The last screen I used to set to have the image folder rotate every hour from my camera photos (you can double click on the background to change from the stored images. I stopped doing this because it didn’t go with the rest of my HD images but might go back.

Yes, I spend too much time on my phone but there is something enjoyable about seeing high quality images (that also help to organize my phone).
