Should I Change My Password? Quickly Checks If Your Password Was Compromised In A Recent Hack

With many sites being compromised and user data released publicly on the web, you may have fallen victim. Should I Change My Password? is a simple web app can tell you if you may be at risk.

When you visit the site, you just enter the email address you use for various accounts and click "Check it!" A large database of compromised account passwords and their associated email addresses (see the sources here) will be searched and you'll find out if you're in one of them. If you are, you should change your password right away. If not, you're safe for the time being but you'll be reminded to still change your password regularly.

It's worth noting that Should I Change My Password? isn't a surefire way to know if your accounts are completely safe, but it is a good way to find out if they were compromised. As always, you want to make sure you choose a secure password and avoid putting any sensitive information online if you can.

You may be thinking, this must be a phishing scam. If you're concerned, read this.

What a great way to harvest passwords.

If you're going to visit the website, I already have the answer. YES

Yes, this looks like a really good idea.

A website run by someone with no credability on the internet, vetted by some other people with no credability on the internet, asking for email addresses from people who may think their account(s) have been compromised.

I'd rather just change my password...

    What they all said...

I had this exact idea just after the PSN breach. Except I had intended to ask people to actually enter their passwords to see if they were on a list. The answer would have almost always been 'no', so that I could build a nice big dictionary.

However, this site does not ask for your password, only an email address. So really, your only concern here should be spam.

I am using Roboform too. And it helped me so much espeaiclly I'm not really good at memorizing usernames and passwords. Also I bookmarked all the sites that I usually use. In this way, I am sure that I access only the real sites and not some bogus sites from these hackers.
