Quixey Finds The Perfect Software For Your Needs, Is The Best App Finder Around

There are a lot of great places to discover software these days, but if you’re looking for an app that does something specific, look no further than Quixey. It’s surprisingly good search engine will dig out every app that could possibly fit your needs.

You’d think you could get by with Google, but you’d be wrong. Sometimes, searching for software by function instead of name is pretty darn hard, and Google won’t always give you all the apps in a specific category. It’s surprising how long it took something like Quixey to come around, but boy was it worth the wait.

Just type into Quixey what you want to do—say, “resize windows” or “take a screenshot”—and it will find a whole load of apps for you to try. You can narrow it down by platform, of which it includes many, from Windows and Mac to Android, iPhone, iPad, Palm, Windows Phone, and even Chrome, Firefox, and web-based. You can also filter out paid apps if you’re looking for freeware only. It’s kind of reminiscent of the popular AlternativeTo.net, but with a much better database.

It’s still in beta, so it might miss something here and there or have a few quirks, but overall we found it worked insanely well. It tends to err on the side of caution, too, which means you’ll probably get more search results than you want, but with a few different search terms and a bit of patience, you’ll probably find what you want. Chances are, if there’s an app out there for you, Quixey will find it. Check out the video above to see a demo, or head over to Quixey now to try it yourself.
