‘Handy Shortcuts’ Provides Quick Access To Useful Windows Features

Windows: While Windows allows you to make shortcuts to certain oft-used functions, there are others that you can only access from their dedicated menus. Handy Shortcuts creates shortcuts for useful but less easy-to-access functions right on your desktop.

We’ve shown you how to create some of these shortcuts before, like a quick shutdown shortcut, a firewall-toggling shortcut, and many others. However, you usually have to search out how to create them manually, which can get kind of annoying. Handy Shortcuts is a small portable app that will create them with the click of a button, whether you want one to go into hibernation, uninstall programs, access the device manager, or starting your screensaver. And, if you don’t want them cluttering up your desktop, they’re perfect for quick access with something like Launchy, or stashing away somewhere and assigning them keyboard shortcuts.

Handy Shortcuts is a free, portable download for Windows. Right now it contains shortcuts for 20 different functions, shown above.
