Groovedown Downloads Grooveshark Tracks To Your Hard Drive

Windows (and Mac/Linux with Wine): Grooveshark is one of the best music streaming services around, but if you find a track on Grooveshark that you want to keep for yourself, Groovedown will download it right to your hard drive.

Groovedown is a simple Windows app that does one thing: searches Grooveshark’s library, and lets you download as many tracks as you want from it. Just open up Groovedown, find your track, and double-click it to add it to the download list. You can perform multiple searches, add as many tracks as you want, then download them all in one fell swoop. Depending on how quality-conscious you are, you might have to try a few different versions of a file before you find one that suits you, since some of them can be fairly low bitrate, but chances are you should be able to find what you’re looking for. It’s one of the easiest ways to download single music tracks we’ve found — when BitTorrent is overkill, and you don’t want to go sifting through sketchy websites. Check out the video to see it in action, or hit the link below to check it out.

Groovedown is a free download for Windows, but works pretty well on Mac with previously mentioned WineBottler and Linux with Wine.
