Use Vertical Shelving Units For A Storage-Friendly Bedframe

IKEA makes DIY bedding options easy by providing standalone slats, so this trick could be a great option for the apartment dweller looking for portability. It’s as easy as putting together two single-width Expedit shelving units, laying them parallel to each other on the floor, then laying the slats across them.

  • Book shelves are great at providing that additional storage either on its own or combined with other furniture pieces. An example of a DIY project which I had done before with both a bookshelf and a bed. I laid down the bookshelf onto the floor and placed a board on top of it before fixing a mattress above that setup. It was a simple and almost effortless project that allows me to have so much additional space under the bed.
