The Ultimate MacGyver Recipe Book Rounds Up All Of Mac’s Clever Hacks

You know how much we love MacGyver’s awesome (and often outrageous) problem-solving; MacGyver tips are among our favourite hacks, and we try to make him proud. So this gives our geeky hearts great joy: MacRecipes, by Information Design company Fathom, shows you every awesome thing MacGyver has ever made. Seriously.

There are 313 recipes in total, revealing which ordinary objects MacGyver used in each episode to create diversions, escape, and bend his environment to his will. Many of them are simple and practical while others are entertainingly absurd.

For example, what did MacGyver do in Episode 213 to feed a phone cable through the wall? He used a coat hanger of course. Surprisingly, he only used a hanger one other time, according to MacGyver Recipes: in Episode 137, he combined a hanger and heating coil to melt plastic hand ties.

To see through a frosted window in Episode 71, he used motor oil (he could’ve also done this with a piece of clear tape).

And just one more for kicks: MacGyver built an arc welder out of a car antenna, jump cable, and battery. That was early on in his career too (Episode 52). Thanks, Paul!
