iOS: Most people aren’t fond of housework, but a messy home with no clean dishes or laundry is no paradise either. HomeRoutines helps you put together a cleaning plan that you can follow on a weekly basis, easing the chore of, well, doing your chores.
What Does It Do?
Like with any good plan, you need to break it down. HomeRoutines helps you do this by providing separate places for your tasks. Because the app specialises in doing housework, it’s able to provide meaningful task organisation that’s separated by the day of the week, the time of day, and by zones (which are combinations of rooms in a house or an area of your apartment that you define yourself). Each day you’ll come to the app’s main screen and tap Morning or Evening (depending on the time of day) and you’ll be presented with the cleaning tasks you need to carry out. When you finish a task, you give it a star. During a task, you can also easily start a timer by tapping the bottom left corner of the screen. (By default, it says “15 minutes.”) As you complete tasks, they’ll show up in your accomplishments so you can see what you’ve done. For bigger cleaning tasks, HomeRoutines let you view tasks by zone so you can focus on particular areas and really take care of business.
Who’s It For?
People who are really serious about cleaning their homes, or people who need some serious help tackling their mess. If you manage your cleaning well enough you probably don’t need an app to help you, but if cleaning is difficult you might do well with an app like HomeRoutines to help keep you on task.

For $3.99, it’s an affordable helper when you need to really get some cleaning done. This is not an app for everyone, but it’s bound to be helpful for people who take their housecleaning seriously.
