Loadmax Lets Removalists Bid To Move Your Stuff

Hunting down a removalist can be a time-consuming and expensive business. Loadmax aims to make it easier for you to shift stuff by letting removalists bid on jobs, and potentially saves you money by letting you take advantage of "backloads".

Backloading -- having your stuff moved at the same time as someone else -- is often touted as the best way to save money when moving, but finding a removalist who is covering the trip you need can be tricky. Loadmax lets you enter details of the items you need shifted and where you're going, and removalists can then quote on the job. There weren't a lot of jobs listed when we checked the site, which might impact how quickly you get a quote, but it can't do much harm to use it to expand your range of options.

Baaaaaaaaah this would have been so useful when I was moving three weeks ago. I ended up going with a company called Rob's Removals (subcontracted by citymove.com.au). They were awesome.

@Elly, I've been thinking the same thing since I saw this article this morning. Forked out a few thousand dollars for an interstate move about 9 months ago :(

I own/operate part time delivery & small removal business. Last month I came back empty from Melbourne to Sydney - I found loadmax a fews days after my return, if only I knew before as it would have helped me and others.
