Following the release of’s Android app, Fairfax has launched its own real estate app – its first contribution to the Android Market – and it’s as well designed and fully featured as you’d expect.

The app includes all the standards – the ability to refine searches by criteria, view listings on Google Maps, and contact the agent or a friend from within the app itself. But it significantly improves on’s offering with a mortgage calculator, listings for shared accommodation and sold properties, and a one-tap option to bring up recent searches. It also lets you view larger property photos in a handy gallery format, unlike’s limiting side-scrolling thumbnails.

To get the most out of app, you’ll have to be a member of Fairfax Digital, but doing so gives you the added functionality of syncing shortlists and inspection planners – handy if you’re already spending a lot of time on the website. is free and available now for Android phones.
