Use SMS To Share Contacts On Android

Share Contacts is a free app that gives Android users an easy way to send and receive contacts via SMS with others (even if they don’t have an Android device).

Vikas Malik created this first app of his after not finding a simpler way to send contacts to others’ phones and receive them as well. If you’ve ever wanted to give someone the contact card from your phone, you probably understand this need.

Share Contacts features the ability to send contacts (along with customised text) via SMS and also save contacts you receive via SMS into your phone’s contact book. Users on the XDA Developers forums, where the app was first released, note that sending and saving contacts works on Android phones, and other phone platforms can receive the contact info easily (since it’s just a text message being sent). However, those non-Android devices might not have an option to save the contact to their system.

The developer seems very responsive in updating the app, which requires Android 2.1 and can be installed from Android Market (below).
