If you’ve ever had the challenge of opening a piece of plastic-enclosed product or dashboard to get to the good stuff inside, you know the frustration of getting it open without gouging the plastic and giving it that broken-into, warranty-voiding look.

Using this simple tip from Ryan O’Horo you don’t even need to buy one of those special tools to pry open your device. Simply cut an old credit or membership card in half at about a 45 degree angle (as pictured above) and you have a great way of prying open a device without marring up the plastic.
