Quickly Access Any Chrome Setting By Searching For It

The stable channel of Chrome has finally updated to version 10, with a lot of cool new features. Lifehacker reader os points out one we overlooked: you can now search for the setting you want in the Preferences menu.

You probably noticed that Chrome 10 turned its Preferences menu into a set of web pages that display in your browser, rather than a different window. What you may not have noticed, however, is that there’s a nice little search bar in the upper left-hand corner, from which you can find any setting with a few taps of your keyboard.

I don’t know about you guys, but most search bars slip right past my vision, so I was pretty excited to find out this was there. No more digging for the setting you’re looking for, just type a word in the search bar and Chrome will find it for you!
