Opera Rolls Out Opera Mini 6, Opera Mobile 11

Opera has long been the most popular alternate choice for people who don't want to roll with their mobile phone's native browser. The newly-updated Opera Mini 6 and Opera Mobile 11 add social networking share buttons, pinch-to-zoom support on touch-enabled phones, optimisations designed for tablet users and claimed general performance improvements.

Opera Mini (which shrinks web pages to maximise download speed) is available for Android, BlackBerry and Symbian, while Opera Mobile (which offers full HTML5 support) is being updated for Android, Symbian, Windows 7 and MeeGo (I guess someone has to). Hit the link below to download on your device.

...No mention of iOS? How long do I have to wait for the damn thing to support the Retina Display?
    :(

No mention of iOS. I suspect it's still in the approval process, since they did demonstrate an iPad version of Opera Mini 6...

Haha, I feel your pain. Safari puts Opera Mini to shame on the iPhone 4. Low res and what seems to be worse performance than an previous hardware makes Opera Mini hard to like in iOS.

Whereas on my old Symbian Nokia E71, it was a lifesaver.

Maybe it's just waiting to clear on the App Store.

Alas, Opera's website simply says "stay tuned" for iOS. Damn app store approval process! Opera looks great on the 3GS but is near illegible on the iPhone 4's Retina Display. Time for some legitimate competition for Safari!

"Opera has long been the most popular alternate choice for people who don’t want to roll with their mobile phone’s native browser." More popular than Dolphin? Sacrilege! I've used Opera and I remember even changing tabs was a hassle (you had to press the tabs button, switch tabs, then press the tabs button AGAIN just to get rid of it. Dolphin has a tabs bar like Firefox). Those people need to try Dolphin pronto.

Yes, Jason, Opera is a lot more popular than Dolphin. Remember, Opera is the #1 mobile browser worldwide. It has more than 100 million users. Dolphin is a mosquito in comparison.

Tried Dolphin, and dumped it. As so many others have too.
