Firefox 4 Released For Android, Syncs Well With Firefox On Desktop

Android/Maemo: Android has a lot of great browser alternatives, but today Mozilla released the final version of Firefox 4 Mobile, which brings tabbed browsing, add-ons and serious synchronisation power to your phone.Firefox Mobile’s main goal is to eliminate the amount of typing you do on your tiny smartphone keyboard. It eases your browsing experience by adding tabs, one-touch bookmarking and auto-hiding browser controls. You can also easily access your history, bookmarks, and open tabs from the address bar — just like in Firefox 4 on the desktop, as well as access custom search engines and one-tap sharing features.

Undoubtedly the coolest part of Firefox Mobile, though, is its syncing power. If you use Firefox on the desktop, Firefox Mobile is a godsend. You can sync all your bookmarks, history, passwords, form data, and open tabs between your desktop and phone seamlessly, without even having to do much. Kevin put it best in our review of the RC: it’s like Chrome to Phone, but it goes both ways and is constantly on, requiring no button pushing on your part.

As we mentioned in our most recent Android Browser Faceoff, Firefox isn’t necessarily the fastest browser on the block, but it isn’t slow by any means — and if you use Firefox on the desktop, it’s probably one of the best mobile browsers around. Check out the video to see more, or head straight to the Android Market to try it out.
