Microsoft No Longer Hitting WP7 App Buyers With Transaction Fees

Remember how Microsoft was charging foreign transaction fees for purchases of Windows Phone 7 apps, even though the prices were in Australian dollars? That annoying habit appears to have stopped.

Long Zheng’s I Started Something blog reports that accounts where the problem had previously been an issue are now seeing the transactions processed in North Ryde, which means no excess charges. Good news all round in an environment where unwanted fees and inequitable international charges are far too common. If you still prefer free app options, don’t forget to check our Lifehacker Pack for Windows Phone 7.
