UnDock Supercharges Your Mac’s Disk-Ejecting Functionality

Mac OS X can be a little slow when it comes to ejecting drives, especially during a Time Machine backup. A handy menubar utility called unDock attempts to solve this problem by making it easier to eject your drives quickly.

It’s officially begun: the $1.19 apps are finding their way into the Mac App Store, unDock being one of them. It’s a little utility that lives in your menubar and makes ejecting all your drives a lot faster. When you eject a drive on a Mac, you have to cancel any operations that are currently in use. You also have to eject each drive individually. Those precious 10-20 seconds aren’t always important, but when you’re in a hurry (or just feeling impatient) they can feel a lot longer. With unDock, you can eject everything with a single keystroke or click. If your drive is in use (say, if it’s backing up Time Machine), unDock will take care of cancelling the operation. You can add your AppleScripts to extend functionality and Growl notifications will keep you informed.

unDock is a handle utility that’ll cost you only $1.19 and is available in the Mac App Store right now.
