Tinwork Upcycles Drink Cans Into Embossed Boxes

The heavily embossed box pictured here began life as an energy drink can. Check out how to upcycle aluminium drink cans into attractive little gift boxes.

DIY blog Atomic Shrimp shares a series of guides to turning aluminium cans into all manner of boxes.

The basic premise is simple: scrub the paint off the can with an abrasive, cut the top and bottom off, and roll the body of the can flat. Once laid out and taped down, you can use simple tools (like a ball point pen) to emboss the metal.
