Speed Up Evernote On Windows Using The Debug Menu

Powerful note-taking program Evernote is one of our favourite organisational apps, but its Windows client doesn’t always run smoothly. Here’s how to speed it up using its hidden debug menu.

To start up Evernote with the debug menu, first quit Evernote completely, and then hit the Start button. Type evernote /debug in the Run box and hit Enter. Now, you should see a new menu at the top of the window called [Debug] . From there, you’ll want to click on Optimise Database. This process will take a while, but should make your Evernote installation run a bit faster and perform searches a bit easier. If you like, you can also rebuild your notebooks’ thumbnails by clicking Recreate Note Images. Hit the link to read more, and let us know if you see a noticeable difference in the comments.
