DIY Flip Book From Video Footage

Remember those flip books you got as a kid where you could see an image animated by flipping the corners? You can make one yourself using some video footage and a little printing trickery.

Helen Bradley (one of our favourite writers around here on tech tricks) has put together a detailed guide to building your own flip book for Craft magazine, using either video footage or a sequence of pictures — a tripod would be pretty much essential for the latter. The printing stage uses Photoshop Elements, but fortunately there’s also instructions for using Picasa, which is a less costly alternative for most of us. It’s a neat idea for a gift, or as a holiday project. Hit the link for the full instructions.
