Create A Pleasing Piece Of Abstract Art On The Cheap

If you’re looking for some interesting and unique artwork for your place but you’re not looking to spend a bundle of cash, this simple DIY abstract painting technique yields pleasing results.

Design blog Wit and Whistle (the same folks who showed us how to recycle a wine bottle in DIY ambient lighting) shares a simple tutorial for making quick and cheap abstract art to decorate your bare walls.

You can easily make your own with a canvas, a paint brush, 1/2″ masking tape, and three colours + white acrylic paint. Just tape up your canvas every which way, paint a gradient of each colour in the taped segments, remove the tape, and enjoy!

Hit up the link below for addition pictures of the masking and painting process or head over to your local art store to grab the necessary supplies. Whipped up some good looking art in a similarly cheap and easy fashion? Share your instructions in the comments.
