Windows: WinNumpad Positioner is a lightweight and snappy Windows management tool that repositions Windows using simple Windows Key + Numpad combinations.
WinNumpad Positioner is in the class of tiny portable applications that do one thing and do it well. When you run WinNumpad Positioner it parks itself in the system tray and waits. From then on whenever the focus is on an application window and you press the Windows Key + a Numpad key the window is resized and shifted to the portion of the screen corresponding to the position of that number on the number pad. Pressing 8 and 2, for example, allowed us to resize the two browser panes in the screenshot above with only two keyboard shortcuts. If we had used 7 and 9 the windows would look like this:
You can't customise anything about the application; it simply moves the windows in the direction of the number pad number you use and does it with little fuss or overhead. WinNumpad Positioner is a free download and works wherever Windows does.
