Weet Is A Simple, Elegant Twitter App For Mac OS X

Mac OS X: The popular iOS Twitter app Weet has made it’s beta debut on Mac OS X, bringing its focused functionality and elegant interface to the desktop. Download it now.

While I’m frightened by the thought of iOS taking over the Mac desktop, there are a number of great iOS apps we’d love to see ported over to OS X. Weet is one great little Twitter app that’s already made the leap.

Weet is a lot like previously mentioned Itsy, but offers a few added and very welcome features while still keeping a focused, minimalist interface. Weet allows you to use multiple accounts, it remembers where you left off in your feed when you restart the app (to keep you from missing any tweets), and makes posting and viewing photos from within the app especially simple.

The beta is still a little buggy, but so far the only issue I’ve noticed over the past few days is that Weet needs to be restarted if you lose your internet connection when it’s trying to make an update. It’s very stable and has never crashed, but simple ceases to update — a bug that will likely be worked out pretty quickly as the Weet team seems to be updating their beta daily, if not more frequently.

Overall, if you’re looking for a tiny, simple, well-organised, and easy-to-use Twitter app for Mac OS X, Weet is a good choice. While not in its final stages, it’s perfectly usable for a beta. Currently, the beta is available to use for free.[imgclear]
