Chrome/Safari: Browser extension Pure Reader brings the look and feel of Reeder's iPad and OS X application to Google Reader's web layout.
Like Helvetireader before it, Pure Reader changes Google Reader's web interface to better resemble the recently released Reeder desktop application. Since this is a simple browser extension, setup is a cinch and works well across both Chrome and Safari. Even better, users still retain full functionality of all Google Reader features. You can still share articles with your favourite social sites, or use the built in keyboard shortcuts to quickly navigate through feeds.
One unfortunate finding is that Pure Reader is limited only to feeds you've subscribed too, and not to Google Reader users that you may be following. Hopefully this is a minor setback and will see itself fixed in future updates. As far as the handling feeds goes, Pure Reader emphasises how well web interfaces are starting to rival even the best desktop applications.
