Nike Training Club Is Your New, Handheld Personal Trainer

iOS: Nike Training Club is a handheld personal trainer for your iPhone, walking you through timed exercises with visual demonstrations and keep you on task with your exercise goals. Oh, and it's free.

This free fitness training app is geared towards women, but I don't see any reason why a guy can't benefit as well. After sampling the butt buster workout (see video above), I can definitely feel the burn — even if I probably was a ways off on proper form.

What's great about Nike Training Club is that it has a ton of exercises you can learn individually, but also groups them into specific workouts. At any point in the workout, you can stop to get a video demonstration of how to do the current exercise. The app will also time each individual exercise and let you know when it's time to move on. When you're done, your workout earns you rewards minutes that will eventually unlock badges like "Contender" or, my favourite, "Destroyer" (although I think it should be "Fat Destroyer"). While I'm not sure these badges are a phenomenal incentive to exercise more, the app itself should be enough.

One of the hardest parts about getting in shape is knowing all the right exercises. Nike Training Club teaches you how to target specific areas of your body, helps you do the exercises, and keeps you focused on track. You can't ask for much more than that. But if you were to ask for more, you'd probably want it to be free. And it is.

Nike Training Club | iTunes App Store

Of course one needs a US iTunes account, as for some reason its not in the AU store.

looks good. pity it's only available in the US store at the moment..

I agree with the other comments. This looks like a cool app and I am not sure why Nike would exclude Australian's from using it when we already have to pay more than double for than America for their products. I tried looking for contact details for their Australian office on their website but only Canada, UK and USA can send them feedback.

Looks awesome...shame it's not available in Australia yet.

Wonder if it will go on Android?

What a great app but why can't we use it in Australia?????????? Big fail Nike

About two years ago they released an app available to Australians. It was linked to I still have it on my phone. It's very similar to the one reviewed here, but has a different layout and is called Nike Training. I still get updates for it!

I love it! I'm still sweating because I just finished a running training program on it.
