A lot of services, like file-syncing app Dropbox, offer perks to users to refer others to their service. It's good for business, but can be annoying for your friends. Reader bayXSonic found out, a helpful bug report can score you even more.
For some reason I just got my space on dropbox increased by 10GB. I had 5.5GB and now I was just notified I had 15.5!
No, wait! 25.5GB now! What's happening??
Edit: it turns out that they increased my quota because of a "detailed bug report" I sent in a few days ago.
This is a great anecdote for a few reasons. First, kudos to bayXSonic for providing a detailed bug report; it can be tedious, but it's what helps developers improve the software we love. Second, kudos to Dropbox for rewarding users who help them out. It's a great way to encourage this kind of help, and it's a relatively simple way for them to do it.
You may not be as lucky as bayXSonic, but it's worth a try — and also just a nice thing to do.
