Windows/Mac and Android: Just a few hours after Winamp released its own wireless sync solution, media management app doubleTwist comes out with a smooth, seamless solution for getting music, videos and photos to and from your Android device. And it looks nice.
AirSync is an upgrade to the doubleTwist app for Android — it’s $US0.99 for the first 10,000 downloaders, and $US4.99 for those after. What you get for the money is pretty nice — a desktop client and Android app that can find each other across a Wi-Fi network, and then sync iTunes playlists, or just your own doubleTwist lists, across the air.
DoubleTwist’s desktop software has matured too, to the point where it’s less buggy and smarter about organizing your files. The integration of a vast podcast network, and scan-friendly Market apps right in the software, makes doubleTwist a really good pick for anyone looking for the fabled “iTunes for Android”.
DoubleTwist’s AirSync upgrade is $US0.99 for the first 10,000 upgraders, then $US4.99 for later purchasers, through the Market. The Windows and Mac software it syncs with is free for both platforms.
