Dell Promises To Stop Warranty Misbehaviour

This one emerged on Christmas Eve and thus slipped under our radar for a while, but it's worth noting: Dell has entered into an enforceable undertaking with the ACCC after making inaccurate statements about refund and warranty rights for consumers.

Under the three year deal, Dell has undertaken to ensure that customers understand their consumer rights and that it doesn't misrepresent them. In some cases, it told customers they were only entitled to a refund within 15 days of an invoice being issued for a product. Anyone who has issued a warranty claim against Dell in the last three years may be entitled to have that reassessed. Hit the link for more details on the undertaking.
