Gathering steady video shots is tough, but add panning your camera and it quickly becomes costly and complicated. Here’s a quick DIY solution for smooth pans using a kitchen timer and some velcro.
What you’ll need:
- Block of wood
- Kitchen timer
Using the block of wood as a base, the kitchen timer will fit snuggly face down into it thanks to velcro. Then all that you need to do is drill a small hole into the back of the timer to allow a bolt the size of your camera mount.
Once you’re set up, wind the timer with the camera on top and enjoy an inexpensive, simple panning camera mount. If you’re looking to record video using your camera phone, try using a binder clip.
Thanks for the tip Pat.
