Your trusted, well-tested sneakers feel fine on your feet, but they look like they've seen better days. If you've got toothpaste and a scrubbing brush to spare, you can restore your kicks to their just-out-of-box looks.
We've previously suggested giving your shoes a good dose of lemon juice and letting the sun do the work, but for tougher stains and more generally busted-looking shoes, this scrubbing method at Instructables looks like tough but effective treatment. If your shoes have a light-coloured rubber sole, you'll have to use "real vigour", as the author puts it, but the results shown in the accompanying image speak for themselves.
