The joy of cooking is often mitigated by the misery of cleaning up, but you can cut out a lot of hard work and tedious cleaning with just two bowls and some soapy water.
Katie Hickey, a demonstration chef at the Canyon Ranch Health Resort in Massachusetts, believes in the importance of setting up a station in your kitchen — even when you’re just cooking at home. One of her great suggestions (as seen in the video above) involves keeping two bowls near by to use for cleanup so you’re not running all over the kitchen just to keep everything tidy. You leave one bowl empty for scraps and garbage, so you can take it all out at once, and the other bowl filled with soapy water so your used kitchen utensils can soak while you continue cooking.
As an added bonus tip, the video demonstrates how getting stubborn food off of pans is pretty easy just by filling them with a little water and boiling it.
