Existing online means sacrificing privacy, but you might be surprised at how bad it can be. When looking in the right places, you can find out a lot about people, and they can find out a lot about you too.

Matt over at security blog Attack Vector takes a look at how you can easily find out too much information about virtually anyone who emails you. The methods described are entirely legal, but it's not something you necessarily want to do. With both an IP and email address it's really easy to find someone's address, a picture of their home, their interests and more. With all that information available it makes guessing a person's passwords a lot easier. Little pieces of information online may seem benign, but when combined they can paint a pretty clear picture of who you are and the best ways to take advantage of you.
Everything Matt accomplished was possible with 16 cents, an IP and email address. Be sure to check out the full post to try these methods on yourself and see what people can find out about you through a few simple and targeted searches.
