Chrome: Highlight to Search enhances text search in Google Chrome by popping up Google search suggestions after you highlight any text within the browser pane.
The default way of linking text to Google search results from within Chrome is to highlight the text, right click, and click “Search Google For” to redirect to a Google search query. Once Highlight to Search is installed, any time you highlight text, a magnifying glass appears beside it. Click the magnifying glass to see Google search suggestions and then click through to see the actual Google search results in a new tab — you can change the settings in the options menu to open in the same window.
Highlight to Search is a free extension from Google and works wherever Chrome does.
