DROPitTOme Is Password-Protected For Public Dropbox Uploads

If you were impressed with Dropbox Uploader — a PHP script that turns your web server into a Dropbox upload portal — DROPitTOme is a free solution based on the original code, hosted for you and with password protection.

The original Dropbox upload require a bit of customisation and tweaking. Addictive Tips reader Tomi loved the idea, but didn’t like the lack of password protection and requirement that you have a web server of your own, and the ability to edit the PHP script in order to use Dropbox Uploader. In response, he created DROPitTOme, a free web service that hosts Dropbox Uploader accounts, linking your Dropbox account and the outside world with a password-protected upload folder. Sign up for an DROPitTOme account, link it to your Dropbox account, set an upload password, and the URL you share with others becomes a direct link to the upload folder you’ve set in your Dropbox account.

Check out the video above for a step-by-step demonstration of the registration and upload process. DROPitTOme is a free service, requires a Dropbox account and has a 75MB file size limit.
