Increase the safety and visibility of the trick-or-treaters in your life with this simple and inexpensive hack that marries a cheap candy bucket to a nearly-as-cheap string of battery-powered LED lights.
Instructables user lhinstructables shares an incredibly simple and clever way to light up trick-or-treaters you want to keep safe in a way they'll go along with. He took $US1 candy buckets from the Dollar Store and $US5 strands of portable LED Christmas lights from Big Lots, and then mated them together with hot glue. The strand spirals around the bucket, the battery pack sits in the bottom, and the light shines through the plastic. The LEDs stay cool so nobody gets burned and no candy gets melted.
