Smoking food imparts a flavour that no smoke-flavoured additives could ever adequately recreate. This DIY guide will show you turn basic parts — like a galvanised bin and trivet grate — into a polished food smoker.
In the video above, Eric from the cooking and gardening blog Gardenfork.tv takes a trip to IKEA, grabs some basic raw materials to turn into a food smoker, and shows us how to combine them all together into a food smoker. He uses two Skrin galvanised storage containers, a Lampling trivet, some bolts and hinges from the hardware store, an old cast iron skillet and an old hot plate. Watch the full video to see the construction process or visit the link below — in the video, he finds that the support bolts he used were too short and in the full build guide calls for longer support bolts.
