HDTV sets might have gotten slimmer and even easier to snug up against the wall but they still stand out in most decor. This clever design trick incorporates the television into a band of paint to help it blend in.
Home and design blog Apartment Therapy offers an interesting way to spice up the design of your living room while decreasing the "eye sore" factor of your HDTV.
Because the living room is super small, the large TV sticks out like a sore thumb and it's the first thing you notice when you walk in the space. After much hemming and hawing over what to do, I finally went with an almost no cost solution. I was able to use the leftover chalkboard paint from a kitchen project and had just enough for the two coats.
It'd definitely a design trick that requires commitment to a bold look, but the end result is an HDTV that blends into the surrounding design elements instead of standing out against a light coloured wall like an after thought in the design process.
