When switching from a regular desk to a standing desk, many people outright replace their old desks. For some that isn’t an option. Today’s featured workspace is a built-in office desk converted to a standing desk via some DIY elbow grease.
Lifehacker reader LivingBacon was tired of sitting slouched at his desk. It wasn’t a viable option to remove his desk altogether as it was built into the wall/floor of his office. He was able to, however, construct a sturdy podium-like addition to the desk which raised up his keyboard and monitor to a comfortable height. He gained storage space under the podium and the ability to stand while he works. Check out the gallery below.
